Troubleshooting a Truely eSIM stuck in activation
Updated over 4 months ago

As with any other technology, you may encounter activation issues with your Truely eSIM, preventing you from connecting to a mobile network. Here are some reasons this can happen:

  • Network incompatibility: While Truely eSIMs can connect in over 200 regions and destinations, you might be in an area with a cellular infrastructure that doesn’t support eSIMs.

  • QR code discrepancies: Scanning a QR code is the standard way of adding an eSIM profile to your device, but mistakes can happen. Perhaps the code was scanned incorrectly or is expired.

  • Other factors: Sometimes, the issue isn't with your device. This could be due to carrier-related issues like maintenance procedures or activation server downtimes.

How to fix the issue

  • Double-check the QR code: If you've received an error message during activation, it might be due to the QR code. Check that it hasn't expired and you've scanned it correctly. If unsure, you can request a new QR code from the Truely support team.

  • Contact your carrier: Sometimes, the issue might be on the carrier's end. They might be experiencing technical difficulties that you’ll just have to wait out.

  • Investigate activation server status: On rare occasions, the activation server might be down. This is very rare, but it's worth checking if you've tried everything else.

  • Restart your device: Power cycling your device can resolve minor glitches in the software. It may also fix an eSIM stuck in activation.

  • Reset your network settings: If you're having trouble connecting to cellular networks, try resetting your network settings. This may re-establish any broken connections.

  • Update your device’s software: Ensure your device's software is up to date. Outdated software can sometimes interfere with eSIM activation.

If the issue persists, contact us at our website. The Truely support team is available to help 24/7.
